At Calvary, our Houses are inspired by the lives of four remarkable individuals: John Flynn, Caroline Chisholm, Martin Luther King Jr., and Eric Liddell. Each house draws its identity from these leaders - people who lived with conviction, character, and a deep commitment to making a difference. To extend this legacy to our students and bring the pillars to life in a more accessible and fun way, we’ve introduced mascots. Visual, vibrant characters that capture the heart of each house. While they bring fun, energy, and colour to school life, their role goes far beyond that. Each mascot has been carefully chosen to reflect the values of its house, giving students a tangible and memorable connection to the stories and principles that shape our community. Whether it’s through sport, service, or celebration, our mascots are here to champion the Calvary way: building strong character, encouraging healthy competition, and fostering a sense of belonging and pride in every student. Each mascot is more than a symbol - it’s a living reminder of what we stand for.

Flynn House – Eagle | Pillar: Purpose

Inspired by John Flynn

John Flynn was a visionary -  a man who saw a need and set out to meet it, founding the Royal Flying Doctor Service and transforming lives across remote Australia. Flynn House honours this legacy through the eagle, a symbol of clarity, vision, and determination. Like the eagle, Flynn students are encouraged to rise above, lead with focus, and live with intention and purpose.
