Head of School Community and Wellbeing Middle and Senior School
Dear Parents and Carers,
I would like to spend a moment reminding everyone about what safe and courteous conduct in our main carpark looks like, so that our traffic moves efficiently and our children can get home safely. I would ask you to partner with us to model safe behaviours in the carpark to our students. The following are also instructions that we will be enforcing with our Middle and Senior School students.
Pick up/Drop off and carpark reminders:
To keep our school community safe and traffic flowing smoothly, please follow these important reminders:
- Use pedestrian crossings: When walking into the campus, always use the two designated pedestrian crossings at either end of the carpark.
Please avoid walking children through moving traffic or the Kiss and Go Zone. - No parking in Kiss and Go: The Kiss and Go Zone is for quick drop-offs and pick-ups only. Do not park or leave your vehicle unattended in this area.
- Keep traffic moving: Please do not remain in the Kiss and Go Zone after dropping your child off at school. Stay alert and move along promptly to reduce congestion.
- Drive to the end of the zone: When entering the Kiss and Go Zone, drive all the way to the end before stopping. Stopping in the middle or at the start causes unnecessary delays.
- Pick up from the correct spot: Students should only be picked up from the Kiss and Go Zone. Please do not collect children from the waiting line or the middle of the road.
- Do not double park or block other vehicles.
- Disabled parking is reserved: Only vehicles displaying a valid disabled permit may use the disabled carparks.
- Stay alert while walking: When walking through the carpark, keep your eyes up and avoid distractions like mobile phones. Safety starts with awareness.
- Be patient and courteous: Everyone’s goal is a safe and efficient process.
- Drive slowly: young children are not always observant of their surroundings
- Report concerns: If you notice unsafe behaviour or hazards, notify school staff
College Photo Day
The annual College Portrait Photo Day is taking place on Wednesday 25 February 2026. The below document outlines important information related to this event for all parents and carers.
Letting Teen Boys Go: Why Mothers Need to Step Back for Their Sons to Step Forward
As boys grow into young men, mothers are often challenged to step back—creating space for resilience, responsibility and confidence to take shape.

Chapel Retreat
On Tuesday, 10 February, Chappie Josh and Mrs Edgeworth hosted the annual MSS Chapel Retreat. At this event new and returning students explored the purpose of Chapel, united around a shared vision to create space to encounter God, and engaged in worship together. A highlight of the day was the prayer walk, during which students prayed over spaces across the College and shared encouraging words and Bible verses using chalk. Students interested in joining the Chapel Team are invited to contact Chaplain Josh at josh.prevett@calvarycc.qld.edu.au
Stage 4 and 5 Camps
From 18–20 February, all students in Stages 4 and 5 will attend their annual year-level camps. While many students are excited and some may feel a little nervous, these experiences support students in stepping outside their comfort zones and developing confidence and pride. Our staff are praying for safe travels, joyful experiences, and meaningful growth during these valuable offsite opportunities. We encourage parents and carers to carefully review the relevant packing lists, and with rain forecast for next week, we recommend packing raincoats to ensure students are well prepared.

Update from Acting Head of Performing Arts, Kerryn Vezos
Well done to our newly formed Calvary Orchestra, performing the National Anthem at the MSS Leadership Induction on Wednesday morning. With only two rehearsals to prepare, the students worked hard and were able to lead the Anthem beautifully. If you would like to join the Orchestra, or our Strings and Band programs, limited places are available for older beginners, or any students with previous experience welcome. Music brings joy to the soul - why not bring some of that joy into your home with a brand-new instrument sound!
We are searching for students who are interested in learning Clarinet or Violin - we have a lot of lonely instruments looking for someone to love. Please register your interest via the links below.
The Wiz
Rehearsals continue to amaze the staff with our talented students working hard every Friday. Please make sure you read the costuming requirements sent last week - we'd love our 'Ozians' to look spectacular on stage - so please email if you have any questions.
