Dear Parents and Guardians

At assembly today, Mrs Winton and a group of our wonderful Stage 2 students introduced everyone to Glassman and Cool Cucumber from the Superflex program, which forms part of our Formation curriculum. Glassman represents those moments when we overreact to small problems or let little disappointments feel much bigger than they are. Cool Cucumber reminds us to stay calm, regulate our emotions and respond thoughtfully rather than react impulsively. A part of our character and faith formation is the development of emotional regulation and healthy friendships. As students learn to recognise these thinking patterns and practise new strategies, they are better equipped to show self-control, extend grace to others and build healthy, Christ-centred relationships.

As the weather continues to cool, many students are enjoying the addition of a warm jacket to their uniform. A friendly reminder that the black Calvary jacket may be worn with both the formal and sports uniforms. The older green jacket may only be worn with the sports uniform and is now being phased out, with this year being the final year it can be worn. We also ask families to ensure students are wearing the correct sports socks. Sports socks should be ankle length only and should not extend above the ankle bone (i.e. quarter or crew-length socks are not part of the uniform).

Group Photos

Our Group Photo Day is coming up next week on Thursday, 6 August with our external service provider MSP. Any students who were absent on our earlier Individual Photo Day will have their photo taken from 8:45am at the Calvary Community Centre (CCC). Please ensure your child is dressed in their formal school uniform.

Students from the following groups will be having their photographs taken:

Junior School Captains
Junior House Captain
Junior School Prefect
Junior College Leaders
Junior School Agriculture (JAG) Students

Back to School Boost Payment

The College has received the Back to School Boost payment, a Queensland Government cost-of-living relief initiative that provides an annual $100 credit for each primary school student (Prep to Year 6).

This initiative is not paid directly to families. Instead, the funds have been applied as a credit to your student’s school fee account.

Your next fee statement will reflect a $100 credit, reducing your outstanding balance for Term 4.  If your 2026 school fees have already been paid in full, the credit will be carried forward and applied to your 2027 fees.

If you have any questions please contact fees on 07 3287 6222 or via fees@cavlarycc.qld.edu.au

Non-Government Schools Census

The census provides information about your school and the number and characteristics of the school’s staff and student body during a specific reference period. The names of students and staff are not collected, apart from the name, position and contact details of the staff member nominated as the primary contact for the census.

Please use this link to view the 2026 Census Collection Notice.

If you have any questions about the Census process, please email the College via governance@calvarycc.qld.edu.au

Donation Drive

A very big thank you to the families across the College who donated items to our Term 2 Winter Warmers campaign. Your generosity was greatly appreciated. Following discussions with David Armstrong, Principal of Tara Shire State College, we have identified two items that would be particularly helpful for students in Years 4–8: sports shoes and royal blue jumpers that can be worn to school as part of the school colours.

Students and families in the Junior School are invited to donate a royal blue jumper or a pair of sports shoes if they would like to contribute to this very worthy cause. Middle/Senior school students will be collecting these items from 8 August. Students can bring them into the classroom, ready for collection from then.
