Thurs 19 February @ 5.30pm - 7.30pm
Essential questions to ask yourself to check that your Primary child is on track.
The primary years are often a tricky period to get right with children, as they are often becoming both more and less mature, their emotions are a little more up and down the older they get, and their interests and personality might seem to change… from day to day! So how can you get through this period of change with positivity and success, and ensure that everyone still likes each other at the conclusion?
Clinical Psychologist, Dr Judith Locke, is returning to offer this follow up session to parents of primary students. In this session, Judith will use latest research and clinical experience to show practical, positive, and effective strategies parents can use to check on their child’s progress and help their child successfully get through the developmental changes of these different ages and stages while maintaining family harmony.
**This is a Parent Only session, and a student disco will be on at the same time for Prep to Stage 3 students.

Term 1 applications for College Leader positions will open next week to all Stage 2 and Stage 3 students, offering a valuable opportunity to step into a leadership role within our College. These positions recognise students who consistently demonstrate responsibility, initiative and a commitment to serving our school community. We encourage interested students to reflect on how they have contributed positively to College life and how they can continue to lead with integrity and purpose.
Our Term 1 College Leader Assembly will be held on Wednesday 25 March. Information about Term 2—the final round of applications—will be available early next term.

Today’s Stage 2 and Stage 3 Swimming Carnival was held under beautiful sunny skies and was a wonderful celebration of participation and House spirit. It was fantastic to see so many students pushing themselves beyond their comfort zones, whether racing competitively or simply having a go. The encouragement from peers and staff created a positive atmosphere and highlighted the strong sense of community within our College.
A sincere thank you to Mr McInnes and his team for all of their hard work in making the day such a success. In addition, thank you to parents for your support on the day and also for helping to make the start of term so smooth and positive.
Update from Acting Head of Performing Arts, Kerryn Vezos
What an exciting week - with Swimming Carnival, a new Junior School Music teacher, and a new Strings Tutor - we've had many fun things going on! It's great to see how flexible our students can be, managing different days, different teachers and different expectations, while still being their best selves.
Organization: A great way to set your child up for success! In the music space, this might look like:
- What day? Making sure your child knows which day their lesson is - a quick reminder the night before - in our house, we place instruments at the top of the stairs so we can't leave without them 🙂
- Do you have your music? Calvary has amazing 'Music Department' bags - all new students and Beginner program students should have been given a music bag. If you don't have one - they are available from our Uniform Shop for $5 each. (see picture below).
- A secure and quiet place to practice at home (often a small music stand is a great investment - these can cost between $15 - $30). Sometimes even unpacking and repacking the instrument can cause stress - if you have a place the instrument can be stored safely out of it's case, the practice regime is less time consuming!
