Dr Judith Locke Parent Session & Student Disco
Thurs 19 February @ 5.30pm - 7.30pm
Essential questions to ask yourself to check that your Primary child is on track.
The primary years are often a tricky period to get right with children, as they are often becoming both more and less mature, their emotions are a little more up and down the older they get, and their interests and personality might seem to change… from day to day! So how can you get through this period of change with positivity and success, and ensure that everyone still likes each other at the conclusion?
Clinical Psychologist, Dr Judith Locke, is returning to offer this follow up session to parents of primary students. In this session, Judith will use latest research and clinical experience to show practical, positive, and effective strategies parents can use to check on their child’s progress and help their child successfully get through the developmental changes of these different ages and stages while maintaining family harmony.
**This is a Parent Only session, and a student disco will be on at the same time for Prep to Stage 3 students.

Head of Community & Wellbeing, Springwood Junior School - Andy Marshall
Welcome to the beginning of a new school year at Calvary Christian College. It has been a delight to see our children arrive on campus with bright smiles, reconnecting with friends, forming new friendships, and settling into their new classrooms with enthusiasm and curiosity. To those joining our community for the first time, a very warm welcome. What a blessing it is to have you with us.
As we step into the start of the school term, it is important that we start strong by taking time to familiarise ourselves with key routines and expectations. A shared understanding between home and school helps create consistency, confidence, and a positive start for our children. We encourage all families to carefully read our updated Parent Manual and Facebook expectations (attached in links).
We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone to our Parent Information Evening next Tuesday, beginning at 6pm in the Church.

CAPA Update
Over the holiday period Dr Gary Holley tendered his resignation finishing on Friday 6 February. Following an internal recruitment process, the College Executive agreed to appoint Mrs Kerryn Vezos to the role in an Acting capacity for the duration of 2026.
We appreciate the work of Dr Holley over the past few years rebuilding and expanding the music and music performance program to a point that gives students many opportunities to build and express their creativity.
Kerryn is well known to many of you and we have confidence that she will lead the music program at Calvary building on the foundation Gary has left us and contributing her own talents and leadership qualities.
