Great Water Fight 2025

Wednesday 3 December

The last day of term is a Free Dress Day and is a Christmas theme. Students should wear clothing in line with our free dress day code in the parent manual, and that can also get wet.

Students participating in the water fight should bring a named plastic bag with their named water gun and sensible water play shoes (crocs or thongs). They can change into these at second break.

From 2:00pm – 2:40pm all students in Prep – Year 5, (Year 6 will be at Wet n Wild for their final day), assemble at the undercover area for the rules of engagement. Stages are sent to their sections around the school where Mr E has fill up stations and sprinklers set up.

Parents are very welcome to join in the fun. There is an observation deck for those students (staff and parents) who prefer to watch and not participate.

Head of Community & Wellbeing, Springwood Junior School - Andy Marshall

Dear Parents and Carers

This week has been filled with mix of collaboration and excitement across our classrooms and community spaces. On Tuesday, our Year 6 students participated in their Affirmation—a beautiful occasion of pride, gratitude, and reflection as they celebrated their journey so far.  A heartfelt thank you to our parents and carers for your patience and support as we navigated the inconsistent and at times chaotic weather. Your understanding has been truly appreciated.

Tonight, Thursday evening, we had planned to enjoy the vibrant energy of our Celebration event. However, due to forecasted storms, we have made the decision to postpone Celebration to Monday, 1 December, the final week of Term. We look forward to gathering then for this special event where our students will shine and our community can come together in support and connection.

Tomorrow, we conclude the week with Step Up Day, giving students the chance to experience the next stage of their learning journey, meet future classmates, and explore new learning environments.

Looking ahead to our last week of school:

  • Monday:  Celebration Evening
  • Tuesday: Christmas Chapel at 9:00am
  • Wednesday: Year 6 Wet’n’Wild excursion, Free Dress Day (Christmas theme; clothing must meet free dress guidelines and be suitable for water activities or bring a change of clothes) and the always exciting Great Water Fight to finish the year!

Thank you for your understanding regarding the change of date for Celebration. We can’t wait to share this special time with you on Monday.
