CAPA Update
Week 8
Congratulations....
to our wonderful performs who participated on Showcase last Friday night!
After a slightly alarming start, we showcased many beautiful pieces that portrayed our theme –‘Illuminate’. From dance, to orchestra, guitar, vocals, percussion, strings and ending with us all praising God together, the evening was a true reflection of Calvary students – dedication, faith and passion.
Introducing Sandi Ong: CAPA Orchestra & Brass
Sandi Ong is excited to return to the Calvary Performing Arts Music Team. With extensive experience as a music teacher, performer and lifelong learner, she specialises in woodwind and brass instruments. Sandi holds a Bachelor of Music (Performance) and a Master of Audiology, and is passionate about helping students grow in skill, confidence and enjoyment through music.
A wife and mother of three daughters at Calvary Springwood, Sandi values the school’s caring community and Christ-centred education. She is delighted to join the Calvary staff and looks forward to nurturing a shared love of music and faith in her students.
Springwood Musical Workshop
Are you interested in the 2027 musical… but not sure what it’s all about?
A Musical Workshop will be run on Thursday 17 Sept, from1:45pm in the Dance Room.
Students will be introduced to the characters in the show, learn a song and dance, and get a feel for what being in the show will be like.
Sign up opportunities will be emailed to all students in Years 3,4 and 5. Audition information will be handed out at the conclusion of this workshop. Auditions will be held in Weeks 1& 2 of Term Four – the show will be early next year!

Colour Fun Run - Fundraiser
Friday 18 September
On the last day of term, Friday 18 September, we are bringing the excitement with a Colour Fun Run, while raising funds to purchase additional sporting equipment for the students to enjoy.
Getting involved is super easy - just head to myprofilepage.com.au, set up a profile, and share it with family and friends for online donations. Kids can earn awesome prizes!

Dear Parents/Guardians,
Another exciting week has been unfolding for our SWD students! We began the week with Chapel, where Pastor Jayden and Pastor Adam shared the Good News of Jesus, reminding us of how God is continually moving and at work in our lives. This was followed by our Stage 3 students enjoying a fantastic day at CBK on Wednesday, hearing from guest speaker Emma Tabacaru, connecting with students from across the College, and participating in a range of fun activities. We were also proud of our students who represented the College at the Netball Firechicks Cup on Thursday, giving their very best effort and demonstrating great sportsmanship throughout the day.
A reminder that Friday is a Pupil Free Day as staff participate in whole-team First Aid and CPR training, collaboration, and professional learning.
Looking ahead, we are excited for our much-loved Inflatables Community Night next Friday, a wonderful opportunity for students, families, and staff to connect and have fun together. We encourage families to purchase tickets online, as only a limited number of tickets will be available at the gate. We look forward to seeing many of you there!
2027 Enrolment Contracts
Your 2027 enrolment contract have been sent home via your child. Thank you for supporting the College as we move to be Separately Incorporated from 1 January 2027.
Please sign one copy, keep the second for your records and return the signed copy to your child’s classroom teacher.

Please note that TOMORROW Friday 4 September is a statewide Pupil Free Day. The college will be closed to students on this day.

Springwood Community Event - Next Friday
Get ready to bounce, slide, climb and laugh your way through a fun family evening! Join us on Friday 11 September 2026 for our much-anticipated Inflatables Night, packed with giant inflatables, friendly games and plenty of excitement for all ages.
Real Life Christian Church: Kids Holiday Event
These school holidays, the Kids Life team at Real Life Christian Church is hosting Kids Life Plus: Kingdom Quest! This exciting holiday event is for children from Prep to Year 6 and will run from Monday 21 September to Wednesday 23 September, from 9:00am–3:00pm each day at Real Life Christian Church.
There will be three action-packed days of gospel-centred fun, games, activities and adventure as we explore the Kingdom Quest together!
