Head of Junior School Springwood - Andy Marshall

Dear Parents and Carers,

I have heard wonderful reports from staff who attended the Year 5 Camp at Coolum earlier this week. Despite some rainy weather at times, students enthusiastically participated in a variety of beach and adventure activities and made the most of every opportunity. Staff shared how impressed they were with the way students supported one another, showed courage in trying new experiences and demonstrated teamwork throughout the camp. Opportunities such as these play an important role in helping students develop confidence, resilience and independence, and our Year 5 students represented the College with pride. 

Today, Stage 2 and 3 were treated to a performance of The Wiz by our talented Calvary Performing Arts team. The production was full of energy, creativity and outstanding performances, and our students thoroughly enjoyed the experience. There is still time to purchase tickets, and we would love to see families come along to support this wonderful production.  

A reminder that applications for the second, and final round, of Stage 2 and Stage 3 College Leaders are now open. We encourage students who consistently demonstrate service, responsibility and a positive contribution to our College community to consider applying using the application form below. The applications close tomorrow, Friday 22 May.  Successful applicants will be acknowledged at the College Leaders Assembly Wednesday 3 June.

Under 8's Day

Our Prep and Stage 1 students will be celebrating Under 8’s Day tomorrow with a jumping castle, creative dance, face painting, petting farm, and many other fun activities. Sadly, the pony company is unable to provide the ponies this year, and we were unable to secure an alternative booking.

CAPA Update

The Wiz 

What an amazing Matinee we had today! All of Springwood Stage 2 & 3, and Carbrook Prep to Stage 4 enjoyed an adventure down the Yellow Brick Road today, with Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tinman and Lion. We met Addaperle, had many adventures, visited Munchkins, Oz City and THE WIZ, Evillene and the Winkies, and with Glinda's help, realized that home is always where our heart is -  and where we belong.

Thank you so much to our incredible cast for a fabulous first show - and don't forget - tickets are still available for our three evening shows - join us for an unforgettable journey!

Sunset Soiree​

Thursday June 4, at the Carbrook Campus. All students who take private lessons will have the opportunity to perform, in a more relaxed style of concert, with smaller performance stages, centered around the Mango Café, from 4 – 5:15pm. ​

We then move to a traditional style concert in the CCC from 5:30 – 6:30pm.​

Year 9 Service Trip Donations

Each year, our Year 9 students travel to Chinchilla and Tara Shire for their Service Trip in September. As part of this initiative, we are collecting donations of shoes, warm blankets, and winter clothing for students at Tara Shire State College, where many families would benefit from additional support.
