Dear Parents/Guardians,

This week has certainly been a wet one, and while the rain has changed some of our plans, we are grateful for the blessing it brings. The rain has also served as a timely reminder of the importance of tending to what is right in front of us and caring well for the things God has placed in our hands. As a staff team, we have been talking about the importance of looking after our own backyard first. In the same way that Scripture reminds us to be good stewards of what God has entrusted to us, we are encouraged to care for ourselves well so that we can better serve and support others.

This same principle applies to our children. By helping them start each day well, we give them the best opportunity to learn, grow and flourish. A great start to the day includes a wholesome breakfast, the correct uniform, a hat, a filled water bottle and being ready for learning. Taking a few moments each evening and morning to prepare can make a significant difference to a child's confidence, organisation and readiness for the day ahead. We also encourage families to stay up to date by reading our weekly communications so you are aware of upcoming events, reminders and opportunities.

Thank you for your ongoing support in helping our students thrive during this busy but exciting term.

Celebration 2026

Preparations are underway for the end of year Celebration evening, to be held on Monday 23 November 2026.  We're looking forward to beautiful evening of student performances as we come together to celebrate the 2026 school year.

2026 – Growing Through Perseverance Photo Challenge

At Calvary, we encourage every student to live out our College expectations: Be Kind, Be Fair and Be Your Best Self. This year, we have been guided by Romans 5:3–4, which reminds us that “suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.”

Throughout the year, we have encouraged our Junior School students to recognise that growth often comes through challenges, trying new things and having the courage to keep going when something feels difficult.

We know our students demonstrate perseverance in many ways, both at school and beyond the classroom. Whether it's learning to ride a bike, mastering a new skill, overcoming a fear or working towards a goal, every challenge provides an opportunity to grow.

To celebrate this, our upcoming Awards Assembly will feature our “Growing Through Perseverance Photo Challenge.” We would love a photo of every child in our Junior School community doing something that has challenged them, required determination or helped them develop perseverance. It doesn't need to be a big achievement; sometimes the smallest steps represent the greatest growth.

We look forward to celebrating the many ways our students have grown in perseverance, character and hope throughout 2026.

More Than Mates - Cars n Coffee

Join the team from Cars N Coffee – More than Mates on Saturday 31 October 2026, from 8–10am in the Western Carpark at Carbrook Campus, featuring a chat with Supercars & Superbikes Chaplain Steve Peach at 9.15am.

Chickens For Sale

It is that time of year when we sell off our hen flock. All birds were purchased in November 2025 as point of lay. They are being sold for $20 each. If you are interested, please email me at show.team@calvarycc.qld.edu.au.

Real Life Youth

Our Year 6 students are invited to attend Real Life Youth this term at our Carbrook campus.
Youth meets every Friday night during the school term from 7–9 pm.

A typical Youth night includes games, food, fun, and opportunities to connect with leaders and friends. Attendance is free, although food may be available to purchase. Year 6 students attending their first Youth night at Carbrook will also receive a special welcome gift!

Our Friday nights generally include three types of gatherings:

• Social Nights: Fun activities and events that build friendships and community. Friends are always welcome!

• Life Group Nights: Small-group activities and conversations that help young people build friendships and connect with leaders.

• Unified Nights: Worship, a message, games and Life Groups, providing opportunities to learn about Jesus and explore the Bible together.
