Coming Up
Assembly, Stg 3 I/S Sport & Mother's Day Community Event
Dear Parents and Carers,
Our Year 4 students arrived home safely after their very first school camp, earlier in the week. This was a time for students from both campuses to connect, and to test and stretch their resilience and grit. Camp Tunnell Ridge offered a fantastic adventure with archery, leatherwork and orienteering activities in a beautiful bush setting. Take a look at some of the fun they got up to…
From the Carbrook Farm
If you are down on the Calvary Farm at Carbrook over the coming days or weeks, you will hear the distinct sound of new ewe mothers calling to their lambs. Yes, we have had new snuggly lambs being born and some more to come. Farmer H will be excited to introduce the new lambs to the Springwood campus when their mummies are ready. JAG continues to run from 7:45am each Wednesday morning.
Please see details in our Events section about an opportunity for Lamb Cuddles on the Farm, Sunday 12 May.
Morning Drop - off
We have noticed a few students being dropped off prior to staff supervision, which commences at the under-cover area from 8am. Please stay with your child until you see the duty teacher. This includes arriving early for Happy Hens on Tuesday and Thursdays. Bus siblings should be arriving at the Hub from 7:30am, when the duty teacher arrives. Parents, please do not use the staff carpark as it becomes very dangerous with staff turning in, buses in the turning circle and parent cars trying to leave. Thank you for supporting our efforts to ensure our students are safe.
Community Night – Mum’s Night Off!
Families, we welcome you to join the fun of our first community night for the year. Rug up and bring your picnic blanket or camping chairs, enjoy a family movie and as much pizza as you can take. On Friday 17 May, we want to bless our mums with a night off as we celebrate Mother’s Day. Mum's Night Tickets
Under 8's Day & Prep Tours
Friday 31 May is a very exciting day for our little ones. Under 8’s Day is a celebration of the early years. Our Pre Prep – Year 2 students enjoy a morning of fun through play as they explore a variety of hands-on activities, including a jumping castle, petting zoo, fire truck visit and more. Under 8’s kicks off from 9am. Parent helpers are welcome and appreciated! We are running tours through the Prep room from 8:30am for the Calvary and wider community.
Uniform Update
We have recently heard from School Locker that they anticipate re-opening on Monday 13 May. Once we have confirmation of that date we will notify you without delay. Until then, they will continue to supply online orders with free postage. The turnaround time for this service is quick. School Locker Website

Shrek - Musical Update
I had a glimpse of the musical rehearsal last weekend and I can’t wait to see the full performance. All Springwood students will have the opportunity to see it next week, Thursday 9 May – supporting the first matinee show. There are limited seats still available across all performances, so please don’t miss out on the chance to bring the family along. You will not only be impressed by the talent of our high school students, many of whom you will recognise from past Junior School musicals, but the story itself, is hilarious and fun.
You can use this link to book: https://www.trybooking.com/events/landing/1174831
Information about the Matinee visit can be found here.
Walk to School Day
Next Friday is “Walk Safely to School Day”. Students are encouraged to walk, ride or scooter to school promoting road safety, health, public transport and the environment. There will be a piece of fruit available for participating students in front of the Admin Building before school commences.
I look forward to the many chances for our community to come together over the following weeks.
