Coming Up
P-2 and Stage 2-3 Celebration's, Year 6 Affirmation, Final Assembly

Dear Parents and Carers

We have had such an exciting week as we celebrate some of the great successes of our Junior School students through the awards assembly. As we reflected on the message of being called to love one another above all, we have also been able to connect the fact that Love is at the centre of all the amazing achievements of our school body.

2025 Captains

I am very proud to announce the Junior School Captain team for 2025.

Captains Table

All students in Stage 2 and 3 will have the opportunity to apply for a College Leader position in Term 1 and 2  of 2025. College leaders have evidence consistent, committed service to an area of their passion or interest within the school. If your child would like to step up as a leader, I would recommend starting a conversation with them about where they could serve, when and how often. We find that students are most successful when there is balance (not every day) and they are working in a passion area. All our teachers would be happy to speak with you and your child about how they could serve.

Awards Assembly

Ephesians 2:10 tells us, ‘For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.’ This was certainly on display today as the students inspired each other through their achievement in sport, performing arts, academics and personal growth. The most beautiful view from stage was watching all the students congratulate and encourage each other in their achievement. It was lovely to see so many parents and family members cheering students on as well. Congratulations to everyone involved.

Stepping Up to the next Stage and Friendship Friday

Last week we began our Friendship Friday time, where we were able to connect students together in groupings that they will be learning in for 2025. Some highlights of the day were, scavenger hunts, new friendships made, finding things in common with new friends and moving into new exciting space.

This will continue tomorrow and also in week 9.

Stepping up to the next stage is a bit of a milestone for our students and it’s our intent to make this a smooth transition. On Friday 22 November, all students will experience time in their 2025 stage and meet a buddy who they can connect with when the new year begins. Our Year 6 students will spend this entire day stepping up to Stage 4 as they settle into the next step in their schooling journey.

Parents have been invited to attend an important information session regarding the upcoming Year 7 camp as well as details about this new season of high school.

Step Up To Yr7

Celebration

Our Celebration event is drawing near. The student’s rehearsals are going so well, and we have costumes coming together. If you haven’t booked your tickets yet, please do ASAP.

We are finalising numbers for the sausage sizzle in the intermission between Celebrations for our Prep and Stage 1 students and Stage 2 and 3. Please don’t for get to book your tickets and indicate whether you and your family would like a sausage sizzle.

Please note students will not need a booked seat for the Celebration session they are performing in. If they are watching a sibling Celebration, they will need a seat booked for that session. Click on the link below for more details.

Alumni Students - Photo's for JS Celebrations

We are busy planning our JS Celebration which is focusing on the 40-year anniversary of Calvary. Our hope is to be able to share with our family the mission of Calvary, and how we are called to go out and love others.

We are reaching out to our Alumni Students of the College. We would like to finish our Prep – Stage 1 Celebration with a short video that shows a photo of our Alumni when they were at Calvary, and a photo of them with their family now.

If you would be interested in participating in this video, could you please send the following to Jo Johnson.        Jo-ann.johnson@calvarycc.qld.edu.au

  • A photo of you as a student at Calvary
  • A photo of you with your family now. If you could have a heart in this photo to reinforce this year’s theme of love, that would be amazing (but not necessary)
  • The years you attended Calvary
  • One sentence about what you are doing now.

We are hoping this will powerfully represent the idea that what is started at Calvary continues far beyond when our students leave the College.
