Dear Parents and Carers

Yesterday we had the privilege of honouring our Year 6 students, captains, and leaders. In her recent communication, Mrs Gostelow expressed the leadership heart and intent for our students is to grow in ‘self’, grow others, and make a difference. There are many opportunities for this to take place. The character virtues framework being one, as well as involvement in co-curricular, service and missional opportunities. Our greatest leadership example is Jesus, who demonstrated His leadership through love, service, and humility. These qualities are emulated through our children as they identify with their personal leadership.

Social/Emotional Growth and Support

Mrs Stone and the counselling team have a strong focus in supporting all students in their social and emotional growth. They have kicked off the year with classroom sessions in each Stage, focusing on concepts within the Friendology program and the Zones of Regulation. In these sessions, Students will be exploring their emotions, and how to be a good friend and work through tricky friendship moments, in fun and interactive ways. As we begin a new year with new classes and stage groups, we want to equip every child with strategies they can use to feel safe, grow in social and emotional skills, and in their resilience.

Staffing Update

With Miss Vicky Feilla on personal leave, we are pleased to welcome Mrs Kerryn Vezos to the Calvary team. Mrs Vezos will be working in the Junior School, classroom Music position for the duration of Term 1. Kerryn brings a wealth of musical experience and passion in string instruments, choirs and the performing arts.  Welcome Mrs Vezos!

Clubs Update

Junior School clubs have begun and there has been lots of enthusiasm from our students. From chess, visual arts, and Junior Ag, to running, egg cleaning and Lego, there is a huge variety of activities the students can be involved in each week.

Piccolo choir will begin in Week 5 (giving our Prep and Stage 1 students some time to settle in). Both Piccolos and Voices choirs are being moved to Friday mornings from 7.45am – 8.30am in the Music room.

2024 Student Residential Address Collection

Each year the College is required to submit data for the Student Residential Address Collection (the collection). The collection informs Australian Government school education policy and helps ensure funding for non-government schools is based on need. The information collected is used to inform school funding calculations. It is combined with Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) data to calculate a non-government school community’s anticipated capacity to contribute to schooling costs.
