Principal Communications, 12 September 2022

Dear Parents and Carers

Term 3 has been a very busy one and for many students there were some significant successes to celebrate. Only last week we enjoyed Back to the Eighties – a very successful musical production that shows yet again what our talented students can do when they have teachers who work collaboratively to give students opportunities to shine.

I was deeply impressed by the courage of our students as so many stepped into performances that represented for them the personal ‘stretch’ that we encourage our young people to embrace. I was impressed too by the commitment of our young people to many months of rehearsal along with the energy required to sustain their studies, sport and other co-curricular activities along with the demands of rehearsal to achieve performance standard of the high calibre audiences enjoyed.

I was impressed to see young people on the stage who were competing at the Beenleigh Show over the weekend as part of our Show Team. And this show follows shortly on from the outstanding success of our Show Team at Ekka 2022. This was the Show Team’s best year ever and a just reward for the diligence with which they have continued to hone their skills in sheep handling and judging, as well as supporting the sheep breeding program over the COVID years when EKKA was cancelled. Look out for the release of our Show team EKKA video which is the next in our Inspire series.

We are also very proud of our students’ success in NAPLAN – results have been released to schools and we have begun our analysis. What stands out for us is that our teaching staff have managed learning continuity exceptionally well for our students despite the many interruptions of the past three years. Individual results will be provided to families once we have received these from QCAA for release to you.

An important part of leadership at Calvary is the election of College prefects and Captains. The Middle and Senior School have recently elected their leaders and I am delighted to be working with our College Captains for 2023, Remmi Keith and Lafras Moolman with Taylah Imber supporting them as Vice-Captain. I wish them a wonderful year ahead as they lead the prefect team:

Joshua Biddle

Balian Clarke

Matthew Kedacic

Emma Haupt

Samuel Noonan

Blake Walsh

Hayley Waters

Last Monday our fee schedule for 2023 was released. You can find the fees table on our website here.

If you have any queries about fees, please contact our finance team at We have several new members of staff in finance, with team leader, Mr Rodney Arnold, joining us recently as Business Manager. The team has provided the fees calculator and will issue an invoice at the start of the year that specifies your child/children’s fees. This will be sent out in good time for families who may wish to make use of the annual payment discount available for payments made by Friday 20th January 2023.

Looking ahead, next term brings the Cross Country and Fun Run in week 1 and our Celebration events towards the end of term. Save the dates for CAPA Showcase on 22 October and Carnival and Carols on 27 November. As always, there is plenty of fun to be had and my prayer is that the days of date changes are behind us, and we can look forward to a more settled and stable calendar of events in term 4 and in 2023! Thank you again for your patience over the past few years – it has been a challenging time for all of us.

I wish you and your family a happy Spring holiday.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs Cherylynne Gostelow
